A Life Devoted
to the Piano
Rupert Sheen's musical journey began at the age of six with his first piano lesson. Trained on trumpet, clarinet and piano at Ashton-on-Mersey School, he went on to perform for Queen Elizabeth during her Silver Jubilee in 1977 and was a finalist in a BBC TV carol competition the following year.
After leaving school he turned professional, joining jazz-rock group Orlando and later National Pastime — who secured a London recording contract, supported Kajagoogoo on a UK tour, and released an album in Japan. Following the band's split in 1986, Rupert went solo, spending over a decade performing across the North West and London.
This culminated in a residency at The Ritz Hotel, London, where his audience included Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Princes William and Harry, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and John Major. His repertoire spans classical to rock 'n' roll, with a gift for personalised performance.
